1128 State Street

In late 2018, Brian Weber (WMF) was hired to provide planning and architectural services for the redevelopment of a 1.2 acre site located at the corner of 12th and State Streets in Erie, PA. The original building was once the location of a Citizen's Bank headquarters. The 3-story 28,000 sf structure was reimagined as the new Corporate Offices of Great Lakes Insurance. The design drastically alters the existing concrete "bunker" aesthetic by creating an open and inviting storefront façade with large spans of glass, as well as new planters and overhead canopy helping to soften the street frontage to create a pedestrian-friendly environment along the buildings entire perimeter. A large 18,000 sf addition on the north side of the building also provide a roof-top terrace for special private events and unique opportunities for daily employee use. The project was designed by Brian Weber as principal architect, landscape architect , and planner for the WMF design team. Completion of construction is anticipated in late 2022.
